We have extensive experience in the analysis and documentation of road network condition and long term performance. Our services include the processing of large data sets, time series analysis and innovative reporting that tells a story with data. We are experts in the use of the JunoViewer asset management framework, but can also work with unstructured data sets to build a useable analysis set. Our services include:

• Algorithmic processing of multiple data formats to construct a structured analysis set;
• Statistical analysis to summarize trends over time and current condition; and
• Reporting and knowledge transfer.

Analysis and documentation of network condition for Trans African Concessions (TRAC) (South Africa). The TRAC network is a toll road that connects the cities of Pretoria (South Africa) and Maputo (Mozambique) in southern Africa and, as such, provides an essential connection between South Africa and Mozambique. The TRAC N4 route is 560 km long with approximately half the length comprising four lanes, much of which are dual carriageways.

The two directors of Juno Services has worked with TRAC since 2004 (as independent consultants) to perform annual processing of high speed survey data, visual assessments and Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) data. This work continued after the founding of Juno Services in 2010 and is still ongoing. Aspects of work include:

• Data processing to structure the data for upload into JunoViewer;;
• Calculation of compliance to network performance specifications (this involves the calculation of multiple statistics over different condition parameters on 1 km and 5 km segment lengths);
• Detailed analysis of existing network condition based on the latest survey data, as well as analysis of long term deterioration trends;
• Identification of key trends and risks (if any);
• Deterioration modelling to assess suitability of proposed budget to meet contract requirements, and
• Documentation and presentation of findings.
